We’re pioneering the cultivation of strains to craft fermented milk products with precise applications. Did you know, references to dairy and milk products can be traced back to the Rigveda, an ancient Indian scripture believed to have been written around 1700 BCE? At our core, we honor India’s rich traditions – even our name, Aamikza, is derived from ‘Aamixa,’ a Sanskrit term for fermentation.

Aamikza Biotechnology Pvt Ltd is on a mission to unlock the ancient strain profiles, empowering the dairy industry to create products with authentic ethnic flavors, textures, and body.

The idea was sparked in 2015 by Mr. Pravin Jadhav, an Industrial Biotechnologist by training and young entrepreneur. He pondered why Indian products no longer possessed the authentic taste and profiles of his childhood. Growing up in the 90s, he cherished the distinct flavors and textures of fermented milk products like Dahi, Lassi, Buttermilk, Ghee, and Loni. However, as industrialization progressed and specific strain availability for the dairy industry became limited, those cherished tastes faded away. We found ourselves missing the nostalgic flavors of those times due to the absence of desired strain combinations.

With the assistance of researchers and a drive to tailor bacteria to suit Indian products, we have successfully developed formulations with the necessary characteristics sought by the dairy industry. These formulations aimed to make products more regionally specific for end users. Armed with a plethora of formulations, we began approaching dairy plants, offering solutions that could assist the industry in achieving the desired final products.

Aamikza received an overwhelming response from the dairy industry for our formulations. With numerous appreciations fueling our enthusiasm, we are now strategizing and gearing up for a scale-up in 2025-26.

AAMIKZA

History

We were understanding dairy starter cultures and its need in Indian market in 2015. Industry was starving with the specific bacterial cultures based on applications. Especially Indian fermented milk product are very different from other countries and need of bacterial characteristics also differ.

We started researching with root-cause and how we can help dairy industry with bacterial production in 2016. We successfully developed technology which can give bacteriophage resistivity to our formulation. We applied for the patent in 2016. The technology got recognized by Department of Biotechnology (Central Government of India) & BIRAC with the incubation center of Venture Center (NCL), Pune. The technology got awarded grand funding to develop final formulation and production process from proof of Concept.

It took 5 years for us from proof of concept to product formulation. We started separate identity as a startup with the name of Aamikza Biotechnology Private Limited in 2021 to focus on dairy culture business.

We are now developing different codes and combination of bacteria to focus specific applications. We hope that the company may spread the wings soon……

Our Belief- Our FRIENDS

We believes that healthy bacterial are like human beings and we treat them as a human. They do understand touch of heat, feel of water, feel of food, favorable non favorable environment, they too get ill by phages and by training them immunity gets increased. Sanskar may be not works on human but it works on bacteria for sure. By giving Sanskari environment for applications they gives us good products back. We make this helpful humans “Jiranjivi” by dehydrating them and making them in powder forms.
